Best place to snorkel off the beach in Caribbean?

I am planning a trip to the Caribbean in April. Of Aruba, Turks and Caicos, Cayman, or other place, which is the best place that offers snorkeling WITHOUT joining a tour? I want to be able to just step to the beach and get in the water and snorkel my heart out…..any suggestions?? Thanks!

      For some information on turks and caicos stay at coral gardens there is very healthy reef right in front of the hotel go here for some information on providenciales in front of the hotel go here for some information.

      La Mona, Puerto Rico (a tiny isolated island in the west of PR) you can snorkle there and camp also there are caves.
      or
      Culebra, Puerto Rico, another island east of PR close to the US Virgin Is.
      in culebra there are gorgeous ‘private’ beaches where you can go scuba diving or snorkling.

      Cane Bay, St. Croix. No nearby accomodations however. Take taxi to beach. Restaurant/Bar on beach. Do not bring valuables.
