The weird part is that the airport runway is cut right into the mountain. If the plane overshoots, you go right into the sea. The people are friendly, but so isolated it is like they are from another century.
This is the island that the movie King Kong used for the establishing shot. If you are looking for a neat destination, and one off the beaten path, then go. It is cool. There is one road, take it all the way to the top.

      The sky view is nice.
      The sea only small planes like with 50 or less passengers goes there but the sky view is nice.

      If you don’t like the flying to there there is also a ferry boat. It is close enough to be a short ride from areas like Dawn Beach on St Maarten.
