Where to go in the Caribbean for beaches, snorkling and rainforest?

I am planning on a trip to the Caribbean or Mexico. Hoping to find a place with nice beaches, snorkeling and the possibility of some land based activities or some rainforest/waterfalls. I would like to avoid the more touristy areas, and package resort deals but at the same time keep the accommodations reasonably priced. I don’t need anything fancy but near the beach would be preferred. Anyone out there been there and have any suggestions??

      My sister really enjoyed Trinidad & Tobago. I like St. Lucia as well although I’m not sure if they have rainforests but they do have awesome waterfalls. I also like Aruba, but again no waterfalls (that I know of) or rainforests.
