all the oceans are dirty
the reason why the atlantic ocean looks different in New York is because of climate, salinity, and pollution
the carribean ocean ( also technically the atlantic ocean) has warmer climates thus the water looks clearer and the atlantic ocean in new york ( east coast) has cooler climates

the carribean ocean has a lower salinity (amount of salt) and fewer populations so there is less industrialization and sewage.
